Honeymoon planning in action.

Destination: USA – Orlando, San Francisco, Las Vegas, New York City, Anchorage?, Atlanta?

Hitlist: Disneyworld, Universal Studios, LV Strip, Georgia Aquarium, Shopping outlets etc

Gathering information now on the best and comfy way to fly around, without burning a huge hole in our pockets.

getting annoyed with the sellers.

First, we had made the decision to buy the flat and paid the option fee during the first week of July. The valuation had expired, we had to wait and pay to do a new one. That’s fine with us. Then they wanted to delay the first appointment so that they have time to find a new place. Ok. Fine with us, first appointment was made for 16 October, that’s 3 long months.

Next, first appointment, the officer offered us 26 November, we were so happy, then had to check with the seller.

“nono, their agent promised us 16 december.”

what promise?? my agents denied it. turned out the other agent in the team whom i asked to never ever have dealings with again, had promised them.

“but hor, can ask for 18 december or not, its a friday, also need more time”

wtf? hello, i haven’t said anything yet.

HDB: u need the buyers permission, you can only delay for 8 weeks – latest is 11 december.

watever la, i don’t want to receive the house in some lousy rundown condition, 21 december, take it or leave it.

of course they took it, happily. i was happy, thought everything would go well.

NOW, they’re making it difficult for a house inspection!! They’re only moving out on 20 december. -_-” hello, how to inspect house when they moving? we ask to go on 18 Dec (AM), “can, but the house messy arh.”

leave us no choice but to rush to inspect the house on the morning of 21 december, and then rush to HDB for 2nd appointment.

its just so annoying/frustrating/blood-boiling! it’s like we have to accede to their requests everytime.

watever. they better not leave the house in some lousy condition, or leave furniture and trash behind for us to clear. especially after almost 6 LONG MONTHS of waiting for our flat.

grrr.

need to change mailbox key, get a new padlock for the gate, apply for water/electricity/gas.

wat else am i missing?

We got married on Tuesday, 24 November 2009 at the Registry of Marriages, Fort Canning. Funnily, till now, I still don’t feel like a married woman. Maybe it’s because we’re still going to stay apart until the actual wedding day next November.

The morning started off very leisurely, dragging myself out of bed and having a light breakfast after my mum warned me off fried popcorn chicken, she was worried I cannot fit into the ROM dress, on loan to me from the bridal boutique, Bluebay. So I ended up having toast bread and half-boiled eggs.

At least we collected the bouquet from the hubby’s aunt’s place the day before, gorgeous isn’t it? The prettiest bouquet I’ve ever seen!!

The makeup artist from PrettyBoxMakeup arrived very punctually at 11am – Friennie Kho. She was very friendly. I really wasn’t used to the fake eyelashes, felt like there was something on my eyelids making it very heavy.

Anyways, we rushed out of the house and got to the ROM by 1pm. The ceremony was to be at 1:29pm, such a funny timing right? But that’s what was stated on our form.

Bought these shoes from a shop in Far East Plaza, it was recommended to me by the hubby’s sister. Love the ankle straps!

Lotsa photo-taking outside, then we had to go in to register at 1:15pm. After that, we weren’t allowed outside anymore! So, we just continued our photo sessions inside.

Soon, we were called into the Registry Office and the process started. First he asked if we were there of our own free will, then we had to stand up and he asked if we will take each other as husband/wife. Seriously, the only thing going through my mind was, ‘crap, am I supposed to say ‘I do’ or ‘I will’? Alamak, just try both.’ When it got to my part, I was concentrating so much on his words that when he asked me, I forgot to look at hubby when replying and he had to remind me, ’say it to the groom please’. OOPS.

Finally, we’re officially married!

After the ceremony, everyone headed down to Rose Veranda, Shangri-La. High-tea buffet, but the selection was quite pathetic. First & last time I’ll go there, but at least they accommodated our request to have all 16 pax seated together (they put together a super long table for us).

There were 102 types of tea to select from, but I only could try one cos it came in one pot – Apple Fantasies, it’s not bad!

After that, we went to return the ROM gown, I changed into another dress for the high-tea, or else I wouldn’t be able to swallow anything!

Maybe the ‘married’ feeling will sink in soon, but for now, I’m looking forward to getting the keys to my flat in less than a month!

Celebrated my birthday on 29 October by trudging to work in the early morning, then going home to prepare for a sumptuous dinner @ The Line, Shangri-La!

Of course, there was the surprise my little brother gave to me early in the morning, a Burberry bag!

Dinner was of course, FANTASTIC! It was Seafood Harvest Night, so there was the usual cold seafood – crabs, lobsters, oysters, prawns, scallops, mussells etc., there’s also seafood stew, fish maw soup, drunken prawns, cereal prawns, chilli crab, fish etc, there was also steak!

Wonderful dinner, thanks baby!

I was shopping for shoes last week and saw this pair of shoes, Gracious, from Kate Spade which seemed like the perfect wedding shoes!!

1. Its only available in Black here.

2. Nope, the Singapore branch won’t bring in the white shoes even if I requested for it.

THEREFORE

my heart broke.

Might have to order from overseas if I can’t find another substitute by middle of next year, and hopefully this is still available online then.

Isn’t it gorgeous???

This morning, I woke up expecting a boring 25th birthday.

After I got up, got dressed and opened the bedroom door to trudge out to work, I found a Burberry paper bag right outside the door.

I was very very VERY surprised and thought, who would buy me a present? I thought mummy & daddy already have given me one. When I opened the gift card, I found out it was from my little brother, Simon, a 25th birthday and wedding present, he wrote.

I couldn’t resist a shriek of excitement and opened up the paper bag, in there was my VERY FIRST Burberry bag.

Perhaps no one can understand my excitement and happiness, but coming from a brother who seldom shows emotions, it really is the sweetest thing ever to have happened.

Not forgetting, I’ve always wanted to own a Burberry bag, but could never bring myself to purchase one.

This beats any other things I’ve experienced! Thank you little brother, you’ve really made my special day even more special!

Just 3 more days to turning 25.

This year, its a simple celebration. The bf and I are taking advantage of Shangri-La’s ‘38′ promotion and going to the Line. Just nice, 29th is a Thursday and Thursday is Seafood Night! I am so looking forward to it.

It’s also less than a month to the ROM,but the excitement ain’t there yet. Maybe I’ll feel it later on? Or maybe because it doesn’t feel like such a big thing as compared to the actual day wedding next year.

Going for a wee bit of shopping today. I want to get a new pair of shoes to match the white/pink dress loaned to me by the bridal studio. Hopefully I can get something in town. Charles & Keith? Nine West? Pazzion?

Also booked my tickets to Taipei finally, gonna fly via SQ. Terminal 3! It’ll be my first time there, wonder whether its different from the other 2 terminals, probably will check in earlier to go walk around.

Got myself a new phone finally!

The old K550i started having problems with the LCD screen, so I had to make do with the bf’s old K800 for a while.

Now I got myself the new PINK T715. Yippee! Only downside is that it’s another 2 years contract to Singtel.

Tiny, light and it’s PINK! I love it.

Went down to HDB for our first appointment today. So exciting, the biggest purchase ever in my life.

The 2nd appointment was supposed to be 26 November 2009, but the sellers protested, saying one of our agents agreed on 16 December 2009. Well, that was the FIRST time we heard it, then they say, 16, but can we ask for 18 December instead?

Turns out, another agent who worked with the ones we engaged, promised the date without going by us first, even our own agents never heard of it!! The HDB officer also told them, the latest they can drag to is 11 December, afterwhich, any delay must be agreed upon by the buyers (us)!

Anyways, I just wanted to get things over and done with, and we’re not in such a hurry to move in, also thought, haiyo, just be nice since you wouldn’t want them to do anything bad to the house!!! this is even though we have already delayed the submission and this appointment has been 3 months since we agreed to buy the place.

So I looked through my organizer, then I said, fine, if you want, we agree on 21 December, if not, don’t have already. Sickly me also didn’t want to have any more trouble already. They were more than happy to take the date. GOOD! Now please leave the home in good condition!!!

So yes, I am waiting to get my hands on the keys to my very own nest on 21 December 2009. Yipppeeee… Not in time to spruce up the place for any year-end party, but definitely next year!

Why are air tickets never cheap?

Nope, I don’t want to fly by budget airlines. I’ve tried Jetstar before to Hong Kong, but I decided that I’d rather pay a bit more to enjoy the extra legroom, the F&B, the inflight entertainment and the nicer cabin crew.

A ticket to Taipei used to cost only around $500+, now, China Airlines is charging $656, while Singapore Airlines is priced at $722 and $822 (the former allowing you to only take a later flight out of Singapore). 

I don’t want to take EVA Air cos the return flight is at 7am in the morning, I’m so not going to wake up at 3am, to get to the airport by 5am. That’s madness!!!

So, now, CI or SQ? CI i get to earn mileage, but SQ, I get to fly out of T3 here, and Taiwan’s terminal 2, which I think has a Hello Kitty shop… and its only a difference of $70.

I guess in the end, the decision will just fall with mum. 

I’m so looking forward to the trip.

And yes, I’m still down with the flu and stuck in bed. Thank goodness for the invention of laptops.
